I followed steps suggested, however, I'm still unable to format and remove write-protection from the memory card of mine. Please tell if there has been any work around to get rid of write-protection.

There are drives where even mUSBfixer isn't able to fix them. I have a lot of those, and tried all the possible applications to restore their functionality. If a drive refuses to work after it has been fixed with the mUSBfixer application, then you will have to actually replace that USB drive because no tool will format it.
